Spinach is a leafy green flowering plant native to central and western Asia. It is of the order Caryophyllales, family Amaranthaceae, subfamily Chenopodioideae.

Planting And Care

How to Sow spinach SeedsSpinach is sown throughout the year
Select a container having a 5-7 inch diameter
Fill the container with well-drained soil
Moisten the surface of the soil with water spray
Sprinkle the seeds evenly over the soil and spread a thin layer of soil over it
Cover the seed container with a transparent plastic paper
Place the seed tray in indirect bright light
Remove plastic wrapping once seeds start to germinate
Do not over-water the seedlings to avoid root rot

Sunlight	Spinach enjoys Natural bright light but appreciates a little shade during the hottest part of the day.

Soil	Nutrient-rich well-draining soil with Optimum PH range 6.5 to 7.
Temperature	15 to 30 -degrees celsius.
Fertilizer	Apply any organic fertilizer.
Harvest Season	The large leaves can be cut individually after 37 to 45 days. For the smaller leaves, cut them off 1- ½ to 2 inches above the crown. Baby spinach leaves have a sweeter flavour and a more tender texture. Spinach leaves should be removed before they get yellow and within a week of full leaf formation. You can also remove the entire seedlings at once however this means that you will not be able to continue harvesting for the rest of the growing season.
